What Kind of Week Has It Been?

In the middle of an arduous week, I decided that I wanted to submit something to a podcast, and I did. So, yay me. However, the aforementioned "difficult week" resulted in the story taking a lot out of me and being really upsetting. Wednesday was hard, Thursday was hard, Friday was meh.  Saturday was better, and today is better too.

And how have I been doing with my Pilates and eating better? I continued to eat better throughout the overwhelming week, but I gave in and bought some Coke cans for my emergency soda needs. I didn't do as much as I should have with the Pilates situation, and that is why I have lots of leg and foot pain now.

Also, I made the mistake of buying a sale at a thrift store. I will not share any numbers here, but the number I got when I weighed myself ten days ago was a high number that I thought, despite it being an unappealing number, was legit. Since ten days have passed and I did manage to eat okay this week despite giving in to a small can or two of soda, I thought either I would be the same or possibly a little less because my clothes are fitting better.

The number was 22 pounds higher than it had been ten days ago.

Now look, I know that weight fluctuates, but that's a little ridiculous.  I may be in denial about how much weight I have gained, and I may not be great at math, but I certainly didn't gain 22 pounds in ten days. I know that for darn sure.

Goodbye, scale.

Yesterday I went to my sister's and on my way stopped into a thrift store because I thought it might be nice to have a new (new-to-me) purse that I could use instead of walking into supermarkets with my wallet, keys, phone, hand sanitizer, and extra mask, in a constant panic that I'll drop something, besides the constant panic that people will get too close to me.  I also needed a winter coat, or a late winter / early fall coat that could be worn in the cold so I could give my poor red coat a rest.  Mind you, I only had $10.  You may think, "Erica, girl. There is no way you could have gotten a coat and purse for just $10."

You're right, my total was not $10.  It was $3.20! Purse for $1.40, and Chino's jacket for $1.80!

BOOM. Facts.

This is a short post because though it contained a few other stories to count my blessings and attempt to make you all laugh,  or at least smile, it just doesn't feel right.

So I'm going to leave it here.

I'm posting this picture here of my happy boy, Quentin the Cat. He loves to stretch out when he's in a good mood. He always makes me smile when I need it, and maybe he'll make you smile too.

In case you need it.
