Stream of Consciousness List Second Edition - Word Salad

  1. Okay, emotional growth alert:  In the olden times, a few months ago, if I told myself I was going to blog daily, and I didn't feel like writing, I would have (and did) just let the daily posting thing fade away. Tonight I felt that way again, but I stopped myself because truthfully, this daily posting thing is as important to me and for me as my new way of eating (more vegetables, fewer grains, less dairy).
  2. I have been listening to podcasts instead of television for the past few years, but what has changed recently is that I am suddenly into true crime podcasts.  Especially those related to unsolved crimes.  I suppose on some level this does not differ from people who love horror movies or mystery novels.  I will not worry about it for now, I'm sure it's perfectly normal.  Mostly.
  3. Even though it was just a short blurb, it was fun writing about TV again (see last post about WandaVision, if you are so inclined and haven't yet).  I used to be a writer for a soap blog, and then I had my own soap/TV blog for a while, but that was way back in the early aughts.  I mostly wrote about ABC soaps.
  4. In my last post, I accidentally called it "Wandavision" and it turns out it's "WandaVision."  Because, obviously.  I am a completionist, which means I have to go to the other post and fix it.  I'll get to it.
  5. One thing that I left out of my WandaVision post is: it was funny.  Still think the format (30 minutes) may not work, but I'm all in anyway.
  6. I can't remember the last time I had a haircut.  I know some salons are open.  But I'm not.
  7. I have a box of hair-color that is ready and waiting to cover my gray hair, but I'm afraid if I dye it without getting a haircut also, I might destroy the time-space continuum.
  8. Speaking of rewriting TV shows, allow me to fix Star Trek: Enterprise.  Sam Beckett quantum leaps into Captain Archer.  You're welcome.
  9. Speaking of reviewing current shows that come from old shows, I was super-disappointed in Star Trek: Picard and may not even watch the next season.
  10. Let's see... We covered hair-color, old shows, soaps, MCU, Trek content, murder podcasts, my new way of eating.  I have issues with calling it a diet.  I don't know why. Maybe I find the word limiting.
  11. Baby Yoda sure is adorable.  But I prefer Baby Groot.
  12. So far on the daily blogs I've mentioned a few of my favorite authors including William Faulkner, Herman Melville, and Florence Scovel Shinn.  Here are a few more:  Richard Wright, Virginia Woolf, Dominick Dunne, Carrie Fisher, Amy Hill Hearth (also my friend, thanks to my cat named after a Southern Fiction character), Mark Twain, and Jane Austen.
  13. A story that I think is funny but that some may think is dark:  Mark Twain disliked Jane Austen's neatly tied-up endings.  He said he disliked her books so much that he wanted to dig up her grave, find her arm, and beat her over the head with it.  If you think that story is funny, I know, right?  If not, just imagine Mark Twain telling it!  See?
Today's Recommendation:  My friend Amy's website and book chronology
